Mongolian Junior Athletes Shine at AOSI 2024, Setting a New National Swimming Record

Global Aquatics is thrilled to recognize the exceptional performances of the Mongolian junior swimming team at the Asian Open Schools Invitational (AOSI™) Swimming Championships 2024. The events, held in Bangkok, Thailand, showcased the remarkable talent of young swimmers from across Asia, and Mongolia’s athletes delivered impressive results across both the February 2-4 Long Course and August 17-18 Short Course Championships.

National Record Achievement

A standout performance came from Altannar.A, who clinched 4 Gold Medals in the 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m breaststroke in the 14-15 age group. Notably, Altannar set a new Mongolian national record in the 1500m breaststroke, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication to the sport. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Mongolian swimming and serves as an inspiration to future generations of athletes.

Highlights from the February 2024 AOSI™ Long Course Championships:

The Mongolian Youth Swimming Team demonstrated unprecedented success at the AOSI™ Long Course Championships 2024, securing numerous medals and even setting a national record.

The Goviin Uschid Club also claimed a Gold Medal in the 4x50m mixed men’s relay (under 8 years) and a Bronze in the 4x50m mixed women’s relay (14-15 age group).

Success at the August 2024 AOSI™ Short Course Championships:

Building on their February success, the Mongolian team continued to excel at the AOSI™ Short Course Championships in August 2024, where they faced fierce competition from 70 teams representing 14 countries. The team achieved a total of 4 Gold, 6 Silver, and 14 Bronze Medals, finishing 19th overall.
